For Happily Married Couples: How to Choose Gifts Year after Year?

I am only a high school senior, but what got me thinking about this topic was that I wrote a note and gave a flower to my girlfriend for Valentine%26#039;s Day and she loved it. It makes me wonder, how do couples find gifts that %26quot;top%26quot; the previous years%26#039; gifts, for over ten years? I know the best relationship would be to not even think about comparing a gift to a previous gift, but in my experience, almost all girls do compare. Isn%26#039;t it hard to live up to expectations? Do women find this a problem as well, or is it mainly men?

For Happily Married Couples: How to Choose Gifts Year after Year?
Girls do remember what you gave them previously, but only because we remember EVERYYYYYYYTHING! From telephone numbers and addresses to cousins birthdays and everything about you. When you give your girl something that comes from the heart, whether its a poem, story, etc, she will always remember it and she wont compare it to anything else. My husband buys me roses every valentines day, but each year its a different color. Either way, Im getting roses, but its not only how he presents them to me, its more of a celebration of how we are together and how we are going to be together until we get old and gray. Good luck sweets
Reply:I listen to him. They will tell you in everyday conversation. Mine just said recently, I need to get a new briefcase. I know he will not get it for himself, so there%26#039;s my new gift.
Reply:Gifts are not hard to give if you really know the person you are giving it to...what are they interested in, etc. And you really need to listen to the person in order to find the right gift. For example your GF mentions she loves chocalate, well there%26#039;s your clue. She loves a musician or a song, there%26#039;s your clue. If you really listen and take mental notes, finding the right gift is not all that hard.
