Why do men not understand that women love being sent flowers,balloons.......?

women love being sent gifts and little silly things like cards and teddys but men do not understand this, to a women it shows they care to a man it means spending money!

Why do men not understand that women love being sent flowers,balloons.......?
because men dont think that they should do those things to make a women happy, they think that they can do it some kind of other way then sending flowers and ballons. I like for a man to do that to me because that is just so sweet
Reply:its not exactly like that. the little things in life matter too. i wouldnt mind being showered in petals, but it takes a simple i love you to take a gals breath away aswell
Reply:flowers ok.... but I would feel a prize pratt buying balloons ot teddy bears.... and quite honestly the women I go out with I dont think would appreciate a stuffed toy!
Reply:some men don not know how to treat a lady i do all the houres work for her and pamper her i looking for a nice lady to care for give me a call
Reply:Speak for yourself... I don't appreciate a spendthrift. An occassional book maybe but not cards, teddies or flowers and certainly not chocolates. I would prefer a trip to the pictures any day.

A home made card is fine too as is a home cooked meal.

This isn't a sex thing either because some men like that sort of rubbish too.
Reply:It's not logical to them. If it doesn't serve a purpose, then why buy it? I've found it best to give them a booklet I created. It states in simple and clear terms exactly what makes me happy and what pisses me off. It's up to them to use it or ignore it, so I don't see it as demanding. Everyone I've dated has really appreciated it since it's like an instructor's manual. I figure why make things more difficult than they have to be. He thinks with goals in mind...I'll give him a goal.
Reply:i like cards and letters, but forget all that other stuff. waste of time and money to me. it means more when he put some thought into his gift. i'd rather get flowers he picked off the side of the road or a dinner he cooked himself. just because he spends money does not mean he cares.
Reply:Reminds me of a joke

A young married couple enjoyed a full sex life and she became accustomed to rewarding him between the sheets for any acts of kindness. But he wanted to prove to her that he wanted her for more than just sex so one day,on the spur of the moment,he bought her a huge bouquet of flowers.

"They're lovely." she said before adding suspiciously."I suppose now you will expect me to spend the weekend on my back with my legs apart?"

"Why?" said the husband, puzzled."Haven't we got a vase?"
Reply:Most men are not romantic, you as a woman need to drop subtle hint to let him know. Most guys are afraid, if they do too much this will piss the woman off and if they do too little she will still be pissed, so i guess they do nothing...
Reply:Not all women love getting flowers, my wife hates to see them dying, ask actively ask not to have them!!
Reply:just remember that men are from mars and women are from venus.. he he!
Reply:How often do you buy your husband a set of spanners???

its like to toilet seat syndrome... you like it down, we like it up.. end of argument.
Reply:coz they cant do anything without being told to.

NOTE TO RICHARD G: i give my bloke head all the time without being asked, but i still dont get any sponteneous gifts so wheres the fairness in that?!
Reply:Because they dont like them
Reply:Men do understamd that but choose to ignore!
Reply:I have better gifts to give my women.
Reply:You are generalising a lot. A female friend of mine has said a few times that she doesn't understand why flowers are a good gift and that chocolates are used up too quickly. An ex-girlfriend used to like sending/recieving cards and letters and another couldn't be bothered at all with them. It's different between people.

To partly answer though, it's proberly a mixture of being embarressing to buy those sort of things, not sure if they'd like them, spending money, not worth the bother, always spoiling the women in the relationship while she never does anything in return (sex and foreplay isn't in return, since it can be enjoyed by both) amongst other things.
Reply:Because most of the stuff women like seems to be irrational or illogical. Seems silly to us to buy £30 bunch of flowers which will sit on the telly for 2 days and then die.

Ask for a nice plant or a tree#

Oh and totally agree about getting head. Women are so selfish in bed. All me me me
Reply:and men love getting head.....but how often do we get that? LMAO
Reply:I understand.
Reply:I am a woman. I dont particularly like those things. I would rather my husband be kind, thoughtful, etc...daily..

Candy makes me fat..flowers die..cards and teddys collect dust. And I don't need a diamond as proof. Love is an action word..Show it.
Reply:For the same reason many women don't understand why men like football! It's natural to think that the others like/dislike the same things I like/dislike.
Reply:Ya I KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT BECAUSE I JUST GOT OUT OF THIS RELATIONSHIP AND ALL HE DID WAS GET HIM CRAB
Reply:honey where you going with your teddies and cards - dont you mean diamonds and designer threads!!? xx
Reply:You answered your own question - it costs money!

Men are by their very nature not romantic enough to think about such trivialities ... it interferes with drinking, watching tv and having sex!

But if you tell me your address, I'll send you a nice card ;-)

Just make sure your husband doesn't see it!
Reply:Not really my thing...I don't like getting flowers and Balloons even though I have been in a relationship with that happening...I think that if a guy loves you can show it to you by love and not by buying you expensive things
Reply:they think with a different side of the brain than we do. a real man will go above and beyond to find out what his woman likes and makes her happy whether he understands it or not.
Reply:who says that men don't understand/do this?

i'm a man, and i used to send my g/f cards, then after we got married i started bringing her flowers, or chocs etc at irregular intervals, as surprises

after 14yrs marriage i still do (chocs today)
Reply:mmm. Well I'm a girl and unless I was really into the guy, I would find the gifts creepy.

So to answer your question:fear of rejection.
Reply:Not all women do. I don't need a man to spend money on me, especially when he's buying stuff like THAT. If I want flowers and I can buy them myself, I'm damn sure going to do it! All I want from a man is occasional sex and conversation, and nothing more. So stop generalizing us, dearie.
Reply:Their useless when it comes to that stuff arnt they??!! They dont seem to realise something as simple as a silly little gift would really make our day and show how much they care!!

Surley there are still some men out there that do that, isnt there??Maybe we just havent found one yet!! x

For Valentines Day what are good ideas for gifts and things to do for gf?

I will get her flowers for sure.

For Valentines Day what are good ideas for gifts and things to do for gf?
take into account what your girlfriend is like..what does she like to do?....what things does she like?...what can she do? (in a situation inwhich she still is under the parental units)...what is anything that makes us special?

and bassically, you can never go wrong with the classic flowers, chocolate and a card, and something my bf does for me every holiday is that he has a list of ten things he loves about me and builds on it each holiday, its a really sweet idea, and if she is like me, she will read it over and over again =]

good luck =]
Reply:If any Girls read this i may get a few "Hell Yeah's" anyway here you go. Go to a couple of her favorite stores and buy her gifts then leave her a note in her car or mirror that she has {1st a ticket to Full body rub down, he he}, also on the note that she needs to go to the 1st store to get the second note. which will also have the gift bag{ perfume, ect}, the second note will tell her how much you love her and that she needs to go to a second store like bath and body to pick up another note which has a gift bag also. the note invites her to a romantic dinner for two. do that my man and Its on!!!!!!
Reply:If you just want to buy her a gift jewlery is always a good idea but depending on ur price range you could take her out for a nice dinner or even BETTER make her a candle light dinner urself. Your could set up a little scavenger hunt and have clues lead her to different locations giving her some "piece of the evening" (ex. a piece of chocolate, a blanket for cuddling and things like that) at the end it will lead her to u and the candle light dinner you set up with flowers surrounding the area (which shouldn't cost too much money) after that use that blanket and have some serious cuddling time or whatever you want to do and when she is least expecting it u could give her some type of jewlery or a perfume she's been wanting, something romantic like that. I think that this is the perfect Valentine's Day.
Reply:Depends on your girl actually, some girls like the simple things , (flowers candy, a simple night at the movies) ,others want expensive things, ( pay attention to the Helzberg diamond commercials that begin to air in February ) it's all a matter of taste.
Reply:It depends on how much you are able to spend. What is your budget?

My favorite Valentines day was 2005. My boyfriend showed up at my house with a gorgeous arrangement of 6 pink and 6 red roses and I gave him a basket of goodies(Lots of chocolate, season 1 and 2 of his fave show, and a teddy bear). Then we grabbed some blankets and extra clothes and headed to the beach. We watched the dolphins play, we played in the water, we ran in the sand, and we cuddled under the blankets and watched the sunset. Then I gave him the second part of his gift, a watch. Then we packed up our things and headed to the car. I bent down to pick up one of the bags and when I came up he was standing there with a crescent jewelers bag and a white teddy bear sticking out. Underneath the teddy was a box containing a beautiful white gold bracelet with heart shaped pink sapphires and tiny diamond accents. It was gorgeous. Anyways, then we went to eat at Islands and headed home. It was the best valentines day of my life.
Reply:take her out to dinner, a nice restaurant, nicer than you normally would take her, and maybe one that people usually dress nice. write her a love letter and leave it under her pillow or under her blankets where you know she will find it later, like when she goes to bed and after you leave (coat pocket works too).

Who is sick of seeing questions about valentines gifts for guys?

I mean come on.. you dont get guys flowers, ballons, stuffed animals. Its not that hard to figure out, just get him something he would like as if it was his birthday or christmas. Only you know them and what they like, so quit asking everyone else!

Who is sick of seeing questions about valentines gifts for guys?
I really don't think Valentines Day is the same as a Birthday, I would never spend as much on Valentines day as I do on his birthday or Christmas, or our wedding anniversary, it's supposed to be a token gesture, so maybe people need novel suggestions rather than the same old, same old.
Reply:its hard shopping for guys!!!
Reply:FEDORAS DAMN IT!

Fedoras are always an awesome gift. WHY doesn't anyone believe me?!?!?!?
Reply:I am not... yet... it's easy to answer and it's fun being creative.
Reply:I am having a hard time because I just got my husband everything he wanted for x-mas. There is nothing left to give.

How should i present her with my Valentines gifts?

I'm getting this girl I like flowers, a stuffed animal, and a card for valetines day to seal the deal, to make our relationship official. I'm in highschool, so should i give them to her at school or sneek them in her car so when she leaves school she finds them? This question is directed towards women so i can the opinion of what would be most romantic to them.

How should i present her with my Valentines gifts?
Well it depends how brave you are. You can either give them to her when expected and the only surprise is what the gift actually is or you can surprise her after school. After school is more surprising but it's very risky. Depending on the girl, she could get really upset at the fact all you have to say is happy valentines day. Sad but true even if a girl says she doesn't like attention and to be showered with gifts, it's a lie. Think about it. All day long she is going to see other girls talking and gloating about what their special someone got them. I think you should do both. Give her everything you just talked about that morning but to be even a bigger sweetheart, fill her car with red and pink balloons and write how much you care for her all over her car. She will be so surprised and happy!! I know I was when my boyfirend did something like this for my birthday. All girls really want you to show is that you care and took the time to do something sweet! ;) Good luck!
Reply:put them in her car...she will go all day thinking you didnt get her anything and when schools out she will be so excited:)
Reply:definetly the car idea. it shows her you took the time to get up early and put them in her car. just make sure its unlocked or something and you dont have to break in!
Reply:I don't like either answer. I like to wait until she has gotten home. then I take them to her front door step and leave them in plain sight. Then, i ring the door bell and hide just out of plain sight. The surprise attack of something completely out of the norm is what girls really like. * Note* It is also very important if she thinks that you are going to get her something at school; do so. Just make it something small so as not to overshadow the cool plans for later!
Reply:Lame, Lame and Lame. High school you say? What your proposing sounds like jr. high. How about taking her to dinner (no not McDonalds). Does she really like stuffed animals? How about a gift card to a book store, clothes store, what ever she likes. I understand you probably make $20 a week but if this makes your relationship "official" your plans are not very exciting. You couldn't splurge for tickets to a concert? If this is as important as you say it is, you need to rethink what your doing.
Reply:From a guy's point of view, you need to take her out to dinner! When you go to pick her up, THAT'S when you give her the flowers! You can give her the bear at dinner just before the check arrives!

Why is this question in Marriage %26amp; Divorce and not Singles %26amp; Dating??
Reply:Leave them in her car! Let her cry and be happy in her car and not in the hallway! Sneak them in the car! Good luck!

When you say seal the deal, are you trying to get in her pants? If so, I hope she has enough respect for herself and your relationship to say no, and if you had respect for her you'd wait!
Reply:Don't give her something unless you know you are going to get "something" in return. The relationship ledger has to be balanced.

I need help on thinking about unique gifts to get my mom for mothers day. Can you help!?

she doesnt like necklaces or earings or bracelets. She already has a lot of perfume and she thinks flowers are cheesy

PLEASE HELP!

I need help on thinking about unique gifts to get my mom for mothers day. Can you help!?
A gift certificate to get a massage. Moms love massages. Or a gift card to her favorite store or restaurant so she can treat herself.
Reply:Unique? Why would it have to be unique?

Does she read? Books are always welcome, if you know what she likes and doesn't already have.

How about a movie (assuming she has a way of playing it)?

Or music. What kinds of music does she like?

Does she have any hobbies?

The point of giving a gift is that you give some thought to what would please that person, what that person would enjoy having.

She's your mother, don't you know her?
Reply:Does your mother collect anything of any short such as figurines, cookbooks, cans, or any kind of collection?

If yes then that is always a great gift to give her, then you just need something she doesn't have yet!

If not do you know anything else she likes, Is she into any kind of music such a classical, jazz, pop any kind of artist then you could go through her Cd's and write down what she has and go and ask at the CD store what they could propose to you for someone with that taste

Or maybe something like a spice shelf, frame a picture of the two of you in a pretty frame, or maybe a new bag

If she wouldn't like anything of that, you could also make something for her yourself...can you paint or draw? A beautiful mothers gift would be trying to draw/paint maybe a portrait of her, or something else

you could also give her a card saying how much you love her, and everything she's done for you, or a poem

I don't know how much money you have but you could also take her out for dinner

Hope any of these helped!

Nice handmade portraits or paintings made from photos are always a good gift idea. You can find more such ideas at http://www.paintyourlife.com

They make all types of personalized and unique portraits on oil, pencil, charcoal or on canvas.

They also do wonderful photo-printing on canvas in different designs. Please take a look at http://www.photo-print-on-canvas.com for more information.

What would be some fun and unusual gifts for valentine's day?

I am thinking about my mother and friends and family. I don't want to send the usual candy and flowers. I want some fun ideas and some unique ideas. keep it clean!

What would be some fun and unusual gifts for valentine's day?
ok at the hobby store they have picture frames that are either made of wood or plastic, depending on the receiver's decor preference. buy some frames put little sayings or thoughts around a picture of you and them or a memory that would make them laugh or smile everytime that they see it, it brings a positive attitude into their homes.
Reply:and..there are the stuffed animals a little red teddy bear or the dog. I've seen red and pink ones with the little heart around the neck with (I LOVE YOU ) written on it, very cute.

That's something to make them smile.

Calling All Moms! And those who buy gifts for them!?

Please help! Where is the cheapest online place to buy flowers! Do u know of a site that offers discounts!

promotions?

Thank you!!

Calling All Moms! And those who buy gifts for them!?
If you need cheapest, do not go online.

If your mom lives another city, province or country, tell someone buy something on behalf of you!
Reply:Flowers are so dated! Get her something that she would remember. Get her a day at the spa, or a facial or if money is an issue, make her a necklace from some cheap beads. If you have a bit more to spare, some nice crystal beads. That way, you can keep adding to her collection for other gift giving days. Like a matching bracelet for Christmas, A pair of earrings for her birthday etc. I am sure she would appreciate them more than flowers because she would know that it takes more effort and made with love. Hope this helps.

What are some good valentine's day gifts?

for middle school kids?

preferrably cheap, but i guess expensive works,

ANYTHING besides the usual chocolate/flowers

What are some good valentine's day gifts?
School-age kids have many things they like – sports, music, films, etc. - and they have idols too. I would suggest you identify their biggest passions and get photos or pictures related to that, then send them to the creative artists at http://www.paintyourlife.com. They can make very unique and classical-looking portraits or paintings out of otherwise ordinary photos! Try it out! It does not cost much.

The same company also has a studio for oil paintings reproductions. If you are looking for an affordable gift urgently, you can take a look at their 'stock on sale'. Visit http://www.oil-paintings-reproductions.c...
Reply:something creative is a good idea...go to ac moore or a arts and crafts store they have inexpensive things that you can buy from then and they can make while in class on valentines day that would keep them busy and is easy...have fun
Reply:something creative, my cousin made a pencil holder out of a plant holder and decorated it really cool and tapped flowers to the pens and pencils so it looked like flowers in a flower pot.

matchbox cars maybe for boys

little teddy bears for the girls

picture frames, you can get at the dollar store

Can anyone tell me where i can order decent flowers and a teddy or chocs to send to my gf in varese, italy?

ive tried interflora and a few others but once you choose italy it doesnt give you the option to buy the regular valentines gifts that you can buy for ireland, england, so maybe if someone has a decnt italian website that would be great.

Can anyone tell me where i can order decent flowers and a teddy or chocs to send to my gf in varese, italy?
I have a website outlining all the different online florists and what they can send. Some of them will send flowers with a teddy or chocolates. Check out my summary at Centsible.net (listed in the answer source). You'll need to go with one of the larger networks like 1800flowers, FTD, Teleflora or such - they can deliver to Italy.

PS - Because of the current problems in Kenya, some flowers, especially roses, will be difficult to get in Europe. You'll want to place your order as soon as possible to ensure that your girlfriend gets her flowers ontime. When you send flowers through a network, they are unaware of existing orders with the florist fulfilling your order. Getting your order in early puts your name higher on the list. Kenya supplies alot of Europe's flower market, along with The Netherlands and Colombia. Since there will be a backup and shortage, in addition to high demand for Valentine's day, I would recommend finalizing your order in the next few days.

If you order now, you can also take advantage of alot of online promos and discounts. Most of these are set to expire on February 4.

I have a more descriptive page about what to watch for when ordering flowers online. I've also listed this in my answer's source. Check them both out!

What are some good mothers day gifts? Plz help!?
Something that your mom loves...Perhaps, you can make her a home made card. What about breakfast on bed, doing all the chores for her during the day...like a queen for a day....

I do that with my mom every year and she just loves it!!!

Good luck
Reply:Best gift you can give your Mother is time. Spend a day with her, maybe take a walk, go out to breakfast or lunch with her or shopping..ect..or do some errands/projects for her. I find personalized gifts, or photos to be the best.
Reply:Now you should answer this question yourself, but if she like to decorate her house, buy something that goes with her decor. Get a cd of her favorite song, graduation song, or even wedding song. Or buy a cd and dedicate all the songs on that cd to her. A day in the spa would do. If you are looking for a cheap alternative (if you are young) a simple rose with a card will always do the trick. But you shouldn't be asking us this, you should be asking yourself. Also your dad or any one who is close to her will know something you can get her.
Reply:a day of pampering! that or either some kind of gift card.

What do guys want as (everyday) gifts?

I want to get my bf something, but i have no idea what. Just some ideas of something small, to show him that i care, and cheer him up because he is so stressed right now. Everyday kinda thing. Not big anniversary/bday type. Basically, what i'm after is the guy equivalent of getting a girl flowers or chocolates. What would a guy want? Need some ideas that aren't too expensive. Thanx!

What do guys want as (everyday) gifts?
Get him a card that expresses your feelings and cook him a meal. Am sure that'll make him real happy.
Reply:Get him somethign that relates to a hobby he has. If he is a basketball player, get him some cool wristbands. If he is into music, a new CD he doesn't have. If he is into video games, a new console game. Make sure you get plenty of advice from experts (in the store most likely) about what is currently cool! Good luck!
Reply:Guys don't want cards or romantic letters. We do that for you, not the other way around. Guys like junk. Buy him a little toy (that's not girly). Don't buy a troll doll because you think it's cute, buy him a matchbox of his favorate car or a t-shirt of his favorate band. Guy junk.
Reply:a new game for his ps2 or x box and beer!
Reply:basically anything edible.

the old saying still rings true to a point.

the way to a man's heart is through his stomach.

bake him something like some cookies or his favorite food.

or if you don't know how to cook go to the store and by something from the bakery, deli or snack.

maybe get his favorite candy or watch a movie while eating icecream sundaes or some thing.

show up at his work during lunch with a prepared picnic basket and eat lunch on the grass together either at his work or at a park that is close by.

Reply:guys silver bracelet(sterling type). necklace, nice polo shirt maybe. you know his like and dislikes start there.
Reply:calone ( guys perfume ) or if he collects something give him something to add to his collection. Or just Love
Reply:WHAT ARE HIS INTERESTS? HOW ABOUT WRITING HIM A POEM?
Reply:i would think that getting his favourite food would be good.. or give him a light massage n ask if he is very stress.. try talking to him to lighten his stress.. make him a cup of tea..
Reply:Guys don't like cards or gifts that you buy. They're not sentimental. Some one else said it best, even though it's what you said not to write...beer and a bj.

Cook him his favorite meal. Bake a batch of cookies. A massage? Oops, that leads to the beer and bj. Sorry.

Good luck. I hope he appreciates your thoughtfulness!
Reply:just tell him that you care and show that with your act, your word, your best quality. there is something that make you different from other girl, so try to give him what he find attractive to you.
Reply:write a romantic letter , tell him that you're there with him so why can he be stressed anymore ... , give him YOU ( don't mean ur body) ... you're enough girl !

Why do guys ask women for gifts...what happened to the old system where they bought us stuff to "woo" us????

I had a guy ask me for something that cost like $35

but told me I "didn't need" a $2 rose!

I happen to LOVE flowers!

Why do guys ask women for gifts...what happened to the old system where they bought us stuff to "woo" us????
Mmmm. I like the "old system" too. Its not that we "need" a flower or whatever it may be, but it is the fact that they thought enough of us to say they were thinking about us and our desires. I certainly don't mind buying my husband gifts at all and before I was married - same deal. I like to give. But it sure is nice to know that the other person wants to do the same in return. NOT that it is required by them, but that they desired to do so. That they enjoy giving as well. Hmm. Thats a good question. Sorry my answer was so long about it. :)
Reply:sorry, you can't have it both ways. equal means equal for us guys too - you get to wear pants and we get to be pampered occasionally!

you either get unlimited flowers, or the vote. take your pick.
Reply:LOL - equal rights rock....

soon he will borrow your sports car and leave you for a richer women...
Reply:Ah bribery, what would a relationship be without it!
Reply:That is so ghetto. Dump his cheap a**.
Reply:guys are spoiled.
Reply:a man better not ask me to buy him something. sure for his b day or christmas, but if he justs ask me out of nowhere i'm kicking his broke azz to the curb
Reply:haha no room in a relationship for materialism and the price shouldn't matter when a significant other buys something for you but also you shouldn't ever ASK for them to buy you something. I actually like to buy my girl flower plants that keep on living past 4 days.
Reply:Funny thing is, women always want to be seen as equal to men. Yet at the same time they expect to be treated differently. If you expect him to buy you things to "woo you", why not buy him something too?

Though a guy asking you for something that cost $35 and refused you a $2 rose, kinda makes him a right jackass.
Reply:what about the whole equality thing? i thought thats what women wanted... cant we ask for stuff now?
Reply:if i had a gf i will gift her an expensive gift to xpress my love towards her, what importance she brings to me in life
Reply:ain't equality a *****?
Reply:The "old system" you speak of has roots in the days of chivalry. Some women love to think back to those days, and how the man made great efforts to win the woman. However, they don't think back to the fact that it was a one-sided affair because women were second-class citizens. They could not vote, had nearly no power, and were in every way subordinate to the husband, who in many cases held the power of life or death over his wife.

These days, women are equal to men in every way. This means that relationships must be equal as well.
Reply:OK first things first. are you dating him? is he ur bf? but for sure he might have done so because you dont give him anything? yes he did go to the extreme and acted like a jerk!

Besides we also like to feel important just make sure you set ur ground and tell him what you think of what he did.
Reply:I would tell his cheap *** to take a hike.
Reply:is he like extremely poor or something
Reply:Call me old fashion, but I was raised that way. A man (or should I say a gentleman) always tries to impress his girl and always looks out for her, no wonder they call this, the "Me generation" always looking to please "Me" and sometimes demand that everyone should take care of "me". I'm pretty sure you'll find a real guy who will take care of you, (and I'm not talking financially) not the other way around. they're still out there so be patient.
Reply:If you are spending your money on him, shame on you. Don't you know that you are not supposed to be asked to buy anything for him. He is using you. It is okay to buy a gift for someone that you love, when he treats you good. It is not okay for him to ask for anything. Your gift should be from the heart, not from his big mouth. Find you a nice guy that will not be asking you for anything, and will buy you a rose without you having to ask for it!!! This one is a loser!!

What are some good valentines day gifts for my gf?

i dont want to do the usual flowers and candy tho. any ideas?

What are some good valentines day gifts for my gf?
Made in the USA, Vermont Teddy Bears are a fun and creative alternative to flowers. This is a great and original Valentine's Day gift idea that will remind your sweetie of your thoughtfulness long after Valentine's Day is over.
Reply:I guarantee she will love flowers- but try getting pink, yellow or white, maybe a favorite color of hers, rather than the traditional red. It lets her know that you put some thought into it. Once i also made a jar for my boyfriend. I put pictures of us on the outside of it, and on the inside i wrote some of our favorite quotes, and lyrics to songs that were special to us. He loved it, and i know as a girl i would love to get that too. If you are willing to spend a little bit more money, you could go to the local jewelry store and get her a hear necklace, or any piece of jewelry. You can get a decent piece for about $100.00. You could make her dinner, or do the normal date stuff like take her to the movies. Hope this helps!
Reply:Traditional:Flowers and a box of chocolates

Special: a piece of jewlery or something of more value. A ring or necklace
Reply:Nothing wrong with flowers and candy. It's traditional!
Reply:get her a teddy bear a with a ring.

Any ideas on good yet inexpensive gifts for mothers day?

Something I can ship or have delivered (besides flowers) that is creative and something she'll like but at the same time wont break my pocket. Anyone?

Any ideas on good yet inexpensive gifts for mothers day?
If she likes chocolate, then this is sure to make her happy! Check out the Mother's Day gift ideas: http://www.mariescandies.com/
Reply:You're welcome. Oh these chocolates are SOOOOO good! Makes my mouth water! lol Report It

Reply:Spring Clean her house for her, do her ironing, something to help her out. Those are the types of things my mother has always appreciated. Or anything handmade.

I know I would love to have someone come over and help me wash walls.
Reply:Well, I am not exactly fond of my mother in law, so I don't want to spend a lot of money on her... I bought a pocket photo album (I have a daughter she is obsessed with) the photo album says "Grandma's Brag Book", I am going to put a good picture of my daughter in it, put it in a nice gift bag with some tissue paper and call it done. She will love it, and it cost me under 10 bucks!

Good luck.

Is it morally wrong to leave gifts of affection to someone when you don't know their sexuality?

I have a crush on this girl from school, and I'm unsure if she's gay or not, we're in a lot of the same clubs and she's really nice and very pretty, I want to leave her like flowers or something with a note signed something anonymous that won't identify my gender ( maybe, your paramour or something) but I want to know if this would be morally wrong.

Is it morally wrong to leave gifts of affection to someone when you don't know their sexuality?
Not wrong BUT as you attend the same school be very, very careful. If she doesn't react well it could cause problems for you with your fellow students - given what you've already mentioned about them!

It might be an idea to try and find out her.... orientation, before you actually do anything :)
Reply:I don't think that it's morally wrong, but it might make her uncomfortable, regardless of her sexual orientation. Unwanted attention can be awkward no matter who it's from - gay or straight. Rather than leaving her presents, maybe try to get a better feel for whether or not she likes you back first. Talk to her - flirt a little, see where it takes you. Worst case scenario, she's not interested in you. That's not so bad, is it? Best case scenario, she likes you too and you can go from there. Good luck!
Reply:I don't think it is wrong, but it may make her feel very confused or uncomfortable if she is not gay. Even flirting would probably freek her out if she is straight and it could majorly backfire on your part.

Since you are a girl, perhaps it would be better to get to know her as a friend first. If she is gay or not, you will learn that through the friendship. If you find out that she is indeed not gay, then no harm will come out of it as long as you keep your romantic feelings to yourself. But at least you would still be friends.
Reply:I think perhaps it could be wrong.

If she is not gay, she may get very excited about having a secret admirer, and then heartbroken to find it's a woman. Perhaps there is some way to let her know that you're a woman right from the start. If it were me, I wouldn't be interested, but I'd still be very flattered, so I assume she'd be flattered, too.
Reply:No....but don't start so hot and heavy.

First, get to know a little about her...what does she like? Send her "a little something" that you know she already likes.

Don't do the flower bit until you know she is interested in girls in the same way you are interested in girls...you're just asking for hurt feelings and misunderstandings otherwise.

Of course I am a guy and I went to college, like, 100 years ago (okay it was actually 30 years ago...), but I had a huge crush on one of the drum majors...I sent him some "secret admirer" stuff and some notes. He and his friends got a huge kick out of it...I had fun...but I figured out quickly that he was not my kind of guy (that is, gay)...so I took it down a notch and faded it all away. A few years later we had a class together (in graduate school). We got to know each other better and I told him I was his "secret admirer" of sophomore year. He was shocked, but he took me out for a drink and we had a very good, platonic friendship for a couple of years.
Reply:Why not? Just have an exit strategy. It can be a blow to self-esteem if she thinks it is a boy, then winds up feeling unattractive to those she wants to attract. Although it is teen angst, it is formative. Although the odds are against you, if you are right, it could be very positive.
Reply:Of course it's not morally wrong. There are however better ways to get her attention. Anonymous is always a waste of time. Flirt with her. Women do it all the time even if they're straight. However, if she is not, she'll catch on real quick.
Reply:I think it would be better to just talk to her about it. Because anonymous gifts can be a little intimdating, regardless of gender.
Reply:I don't think its wrong, but it could get kind of ugly if she finds out you left it and she is in fact straight.

So just take a bit of caution in doing it.
Reply:"Morally wrong"? No, of course not.

I think you should let her know it is from you though. Make it a gift of friendship first and see what happens.
Reply:There is nothing morally wrong with expressing your affection for someone, but you should have a plan as to how you will eventually broach the subject with them.

I wish you luck!
Reply:Why would it be wrong? She should be flattered that someone is attracted to her and will make a romantic gesture.
Reply:darling .. as much as the sentiments are nice

I think I would be freaked out by anonymous gifts ( no matter the gender )

why not just get to know her and see how things stand
Reply:i dont think its ever morally wrong to leave gifts.
Reply:whats wrong with that?

you could see it as a challenge, turning her.
Reply:I don't think it's wrong at all.

If she is not gay - she'll simply just say so.

She might even be flattered :)

A question for the ladies about gifts?

If you worked in a male oriented environment, ie where most of the employees and customers were male, and on your birthday recieved flowers just saying Happy Birthday would you feel weird or uneasy, that you didn't know who it was from, or would it just be a nice surprise and one of those things?

Cheers

A question for the ladies about gifts?
it would be amazing! (the answer to my prayers!)
Reply:Yes, it would be a great surprise! It would be fun to know who gave you the flowers! You can ask around. I'm sure somebody saw someone put them on your table or something.
Reply:IT would actually be very exciting trying to find out who sent them! And quite flattering too!

Go for it!

Guys, I need your help - vday gifts?

So I've been dating this guy for a month (so still a fairly new relationship) and I'm stumped as to what to get him for valentines day. I want something personal, but not cheesy. I'm not really into the whole flowers/cards typical vday stuff..but I know he's gonna put something great together for me. I need some ideas!

Guys, I need your help - vday gifts?
Your guy does not want flowers or a card. That is girl stuff. He would be happy with food or candy. They make all kinds of yummy 'love' stuff for the big V day.

Why do guys ask women for gifts...what happened to the old system where they bought us stuff to "woo" us????

I had a guy ask me for something that cost like $35 but told me I "didn't need" a $2 rose! I happen to LOVE flowers!

Why do guys ask women for gifts...what happened to the old system where they bought us stuff to "woo" us????
were i dying breed - but there a still some of us out here

- the gift i got my gf was a shell i found her at the beach and i put it on a red thread and gave it too her
Reply:well its a change of generation..guys r being more romantic..but u2 gotta balance each other for wateva reason it mayb
Reply:what is "woo" again??-LOL in our day and age such things don't exist so much anymore

things are more of a balanced scale now or getting there. like a women being the bread winner, %26amp; the man being a house dad. things have changed.

if he is asking for a gift, u may ask for one in return, he is clearly trying to tell u that its no one way street, its a two way. so if he may ask u, u may ask him
Reply:The gift I gave to my woman was a video I taped of her making love with my best friend. It was a great gift for her. Poor thing. I wonder where she is now.
Reply:because there are more women than men men die younger than women they went to war they have more accidents.I still prefer them to give than take because if he loves me I should be one in a million.
Reply:Wow! What kind of a guy is he? Anyways, I think that it depends upon a person's personality. I don't mind giving gifts to my significant other but only when there is an occassion or when I feel like it. I can't remember him asking for something in particular. And I think that it should also be a give and take set-up or else, one of you will get tired of the situation.
Reply:Guys these days like to be pampered too... they are same like gals now.. so we need to treat them like a gal too.. haha..

What are good Valentine's Day gifts for guys?

I'm struggling with what to get my fiance for Valentine's Day. We live in different states and I want him to really remember this one as it's our first as a couple. I dont want to do something corny and he isnt a flowers kind of guy. Guys...help me out on this one!

What are good Valentine's Day gifts for guys?
Ya know, I bet he'd find it really nice if you knew something that he was "into" (like a hobby or a music group) and you got him something for that.

Girls tend to get guys things that THEY (the girls) would kinda like, but guys are different. Is he into a sport? a team? Get him tix for him and a friend (maybe not even with you, but a sport friend) to a game.

Is he into a hobby? Say, get him something for that. Something he will USE and maybe has NOTHING to do with his interest in you. That is the kind of thing that he will enjoy ... and later think ... "Wow! This woman is REALLY cool."

All that BS about "get lingerie" ... "cook him dinner" .... blaa blaa blaa. That stuff is NICE .. make NO mistake. But in the course of things hopefully he is already attracted to you and neither of you needs extra "incentive" ...

Ya get something that is FUN and actually and truly for HIM ... and I'll bet he'll appreciate the heck out of it ... and it will make the impression you're obviously looking for.

Hope this helps ...
Reply:guys like that
Reply:guys like food
Reply:Ok, I think I might have a possible solution for you.

Since you both live in different states, you will gonna have to ship the gift to him i.e. if you're not planning to visit him.

I suggest this "Spun Glass Schooner"

http://eaglepresents.com/cgi/luminous_vi...

It is a nice gift for a guy since he's not into flowers. Anyway, flowers will die and this "crystal glass sail boat" will not.

If you decide to purchase this item, you can even have it shipped directly to his address. Just mention a separate billing and shipping address.
Reply:Surprise visit him with a smile and lingerie on. or you can cook him a special dinner
Reply:For our 1st Valentine's Day as a couple I gave my husband handmade "coupons" each good for something different, i.e., massage, breakfast in bed, position of his choice, etc....you get the idea. Each coupon was cut in a heart of diamond shape. After eight years of marriage it still sticks out in his mind!
Reply:A promise ring? Isnt that more of a thing a guy gets for a woman? Eeeek i dont know...is there any way you could fly up and see him for the weekend or something? Im sorry i dont know :(
Reply:a pocket pussy,rubbers,cock ring,porn u pick
Reply:A watch. helps him keep track of his time and most proberbly his gonna look at it more than once in a day issint that good?, everytime he looks at it he knows his looking at the present you chose for him that very valentine's day. Something he most proberbly wears it everyday unlike things like a tie that he might need to wash it or something. Something that shows out a man's style if the watch is a stunning one that looks cool on him. Most importantly its from you and the present you give him is always on him wherever he goes. Wherever he goes to, you're "with" him. secure HIS WRIST before you secure his engagment finger with a ring!! haha. kidding. :) hope i've been of some help. cheers.

Need advice regarding my so cal mother inlaw?

Well i am 20 and my bf is 22 right well we been up and down on our relationship and still standing strong for 2 yr 4 months right well we took a 3 month brake last summer but our feelings were still calling us so we went back right , well my family is so much loving to him and i am the oldest of all my siblings but he is the youngest well my family took him back and invite him to our famiy events well on his side his mom dont like hearing from me or anything right but i do so much to try to show him i am interested on his (ex i buy her flowers, gift cards for rest., i even wrote her an email asking her to get to know me) well she has ignored all stuff and my bf just told me last night that she dont appreciate me in her sons life and i am a easy girl which is all bull crap right i go to church with my fam i still live with my fam i have no kind of records and much more which has me torred up now.. what should i do say or act ? he obviuosly is defending her...

Need advice regarding my so cal mother inlaw?
I had a boyfriend with his whole side of the family like that. It really sucks. All you can do is ignore her. You've tried all you can to work it out with her and she is obviously not willing to have a relationship with you right now. Still be polite of course, it IS your man's mom. But just focus more on your relationship with him. And it's not about you, it's about HER. So don't take it on. About him defending her...most guys will. There is a big connection between most moms and sons. I guess if it bothers you, tell him. But I wouldn't worry about it so much. Unless you tell him and he blows it off and you still feel upset. Then I would say to end it if you can't handle it. Anyway hope this helps....BTW, nice background on your avator! =]
Reply:Wow! ... I would honestly just let her be. You are with her son not with her, and what does he have to say about all this? is he supportive of you and you're feelings? I would simply concentrate on making you're relationship work of course as long as he's there with you all the way and doesn't believe what his mom has to say, i think she'll eventually come around she will have no choice, she's risking losing her son!
Reply:If you never played head games with this guy, Don't try anymore. If you see her still be pleaseant. Your boyfriend still planes to be with you. She can never say you were mean or disrespectful. It's your boyfriends place to invite you to his family gatherings. Who knows what your boyfriend told his mom when you two would break up all the time. Maybe it's been drama?
Reply:if he is defending her...wat is he doing with u then?! he should be sticking up 4 u...especially if he knos ur not easy. u should go talk to his mom face to face....and stern but respectful...yet her kno how u feel and if she has anything to say behind ur back...she should say it to ur face right now. u get on him too. i get on my husband as well when it comes to inlaws.
Reply:Baby girl, you've taken her baby from her and it's going to take time for her to her use to the idea. All the jokes, movies, and stories about mother-in-laws have some truth in them. Stay committed to your husband and your marriage and I promise she will begin to accept you.
Reply:I would say... keep trying to be respectful towards her. Personally, I think she should let you two figure out whats going on btw you two. Let your BF know how you feel, but dont make him choose between you and his mom. If you care a lot about him and believe things will work out with you and your bf than eventually she'll come around and understand that. It's just hard right now because, that is her son, so she probably is protective. At least you know that if things don't work out in the end you have a very supportive family. Good Luck :-)

Upgrade - good joke for relationship problem couple?

Dear IT Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a slow down in the overall performance, particularly in the flower, gifts and jewellery applications that had operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, but installed undesirable programs such as Formula One 5.0, NBA 3.0 and World Cup 2.0.

And now Conversation 8.0 no longer runs and House Cleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

What can I do?

Signed,

Desperate Housewife

Husband and wife are waiting at the bus stop

with their nine children.

A blind man joins them after a few minutes.

When the bus arrives, they find it overloaded and

only the wife and the nine kids are able to fit onto the bus.

So the husband and the blind man decide to walk.

After a while, the husband gets irritated by the

ticking of the stick of the blind man as he taps it on the sidewalk, and says to him,

"Why don't you put a piece of rubber at the end of your stick?

That ticking sound is driving me crazy."

The blind man replies,

"If you would’ve put a rubber at the end of YOUR stick,

we'd be riding the bus, so shut the hell up."

THE FIRST AFFAIR

A married man was having an affair with his secretary.

One day they went to her place and made love all afternoon.

Exhausted, they fell asleep and woke up at 8 PM.

The man hurriedly dressed and told his lover to take his shoes

outside and rub them in the grass and dirt.

He put on his shoes and drove home.

"Where have you been?" his wife demanded.

"I can't lie to you," he replied,

"I'm having an affair with my secretary. We had sex all afternoon."

She looked down at his shoes and said: "You lying bastard!

You've been playing golf!"

THE 2ND AFFAIR

A middle-aged couple had two beautiful daughters but always talked about having a son.

They decided to try one last time for the son they always wanted.

The wife got pregnant and delivered a healthy baby boy.

The joyful father rushed to the nursery to see his new son.

He was horrified at the ugliest child he had ever seen.

He told his wife: "There's no way I can be the father of this baby.

Look at the two beautiful daughters I fathered! Have you been

fooling around behind my back?" The wife smiled sweetly and replied: "Not this time!"

THE THIRD AFFAIR

A mortician was working late one night.

He examined the body of Mr. Schwartz, about to be cremated,

and made a startling discovery. Schwartz had the largest private part he had ever seen!

"I'm sorry Mr. Schwartz," the mortician commented, "I can't allow you to be cremated with such an impressive private part. It must be saved for posterity."

So, he removed it, stuffed it into his briefcase, and took it home

"I have something to show you won't believe," he said to his wife,

opening his briefcase.

"My God!" the wife exclaimed, "Schwartz is dead!"

THE FOURTH AFFAIR

A woman was in bed with her lover when she heard her husband opening the front door.

"Hurry," she said, "stand in the corner." She rubbed baby oil all over him,

then dusted him with talcum powder.

"Don't move until I tell you," she said, "pretend you're a statue."

"What's this?" the husband inquired as he entered the room.

"Oh it's a statue," she replied, "the Smiths bought one and I liked it

so I got one for us, too."

No more was said, not even when they went to bed.

Around 2 AM the husband got up, went to the kitchen and returned

with a sandwich and a beer. "Here," he said to the statue, have this.

I stood like that for two days at the Smiths and nobody offered me a damned thing."

THE FIFTH AFFAIR

A man walked into a cafe, went to the bar and ordered a beer.

"Certainly, Sir , that'll be one cent."

"One Cent?" the man exclaimed.. He glanced at the menu and asked:

"How much for a nice juicy steak and a bottle of wine?"

"A nickel," the barman replied.

"A nickel?" exclaimed the man.

"Where's the guy who owns this place?"

The bartender replied:

"Upstairs, with my wife."

The man asked: "What's he doing upstairs with your wife?"

The bartender replied: "The same thing I'm doing to his business down here."

THE 6TH AFFAIR

Jake was dying. His wife sat at the bedside. He looked up and said weakly:

"I have something I must confess."

"There's no need to, " his wife replied.

"No," he insisted, "I want to die in peace. I slept with your sister, your best friend,

her best friend, and your mother!"

"I know," she replied, " now just rest and let the poison work."

Webkinz problem please help!?

Reply:From what I understood yes, not much help but good luck
Reply:I think it's only webkinz, if I were you I would not get the webkinz charm and get a webkinz just to be on the safe side ☺.
Reply:That's the same thing I was going to do. I wanted to get the Webkinz Pet Of The Month but I don't like the big Frog Webkinz so I was going to get the Lil'kinz Frog. I don't think you can do that. When Webkinz was posting a news letter on the news paper about the new Webkinz Pet Of The Month, it said that every month they would post a WEBKINZ or LIL'KINZ of the month. It didn't say Webkinz and Lil'kinz Frog so I don't think you will get the special prize if you register it. Good Luck!

Why steriotypical valentines day gender gifts?

It seems all men want is sex and food. So when people ask these questions about what to get their boyfriend. The best answer people come up with is:

A)Go to his house naked with a pizza

B)Go to his house naked and make him home made pizza

1)Thats not only digrading, but disturbing.

2)Are men really that shallow that all they want on v-day, ...is sex and food?

And why do people assume women want:

A)Cards, flowers, chocolates, and stuff animals

B)To give men slutty sex at the drop of a pin because it's V-day, and to cook them a meal while getting sexed.

Where did all the love go? And why so steriotypical? Jeez and on a day of LOVE why such selfish preconcieved notions?

Why steriotypical valentines day gender gifts?
It is what it is. Lets face it, these are the things that men and women like. Back when I had a girlfriend, I bought her a "sweetheart" teddy bear, a "watch" and a cd titled "the morning after". The card I gave her read something like this; We both wondered how things would be "the morning after". I just want you to know that you are my "sweetheart", but only "time" will tell where this will lead. Lame but different. Think outside the box and don't worry about stereotypical Valentines Day gifts.
Reply:Most people don't know what Valentine's Day is suppose to mean.

How Should Do You Ask A girl out? Simple? Complicated?

how should i ask this girl out? do woman like it simple, eg..just ask' will you be my girlfriend?'randomly out of no where,,, or complicated eg... flowers, gift at a special place/event?

well how would u want to be ask out?

well the girl im trying to ask out is 23 , if that helps

How Should Do You Ask A girl out? Simple? Complicated?
Well I am very happy that you have someone special on your mind. All girls are diffrent but something such as a gift (for me) would be a little much, unless you have known them for a while. I suggest something simple and sweet. "Will you be my girlfriend" no offense seems kindof sad unless your in highschool. Just tell her what you think of her. "(her name here) I was wanting to know if you would like to have dinner with me sometime. Let her know it doesnt have to be a date. Start slow. Alot of relationships that start fast end fast too. Remember slow is okay. After dinner (if all goes well) ask if you may see her again. Gentlemen always get better results but dont be a total softy. Open doors and be nice. If it doesnt work out then she wasnt right for you. Any woman will respect a true gentelmen oh and dont try to lean in for a kiss at the end of the night. ask her. she may not want to and if she doesnt let her know its okay and you understand. I promise she will respect you asking.
Reply:If the lady you're being infatuated with, likes you well then ask her out to lunch or to have coffee with her. If she accepts your offer, then go out with her, if you and her enjoyed going out together, the next level is asking her out on dates. Present her with flowers and or candy. It's not such an complicated situation, sometimes it takes patience and understanding. Then someday hopefully you would want her for your girlfriend.
Reply:Do not say yo we are an item.

Just ask for a date. I got tickets to a movie, it is "Blah blah title" I'd like to go with you.

Or to an amusement park or heck just for ice cream, coffee or whatever.

But do not go down the let's be an item route.

too many girls nowadays don't want to be Tied Down to A Guy. Weird. I grew up in the days of people being together.
Reply:well,,just feel the girl's attitude..when you think that she's a simple girl then ask here to go out with you in a simple way,,i think it will not depend on how to ask a girl but the way you're doing the conversation when she's with you...
Reply:just ask her. girls hate it when they really like a guy and a guy doesn't ask them out. the girl will never ask the guy out, so if you want to be her boyfriend ask her.
Reply:JUST BE YOUR SELF. DONT TRY TO BE SOME ONE ELSE IT NEVER WORKS. IF YOU ALREADY TALK ITS BECAUSE SHE LIKES YOU AND YOUR NOT SOME STRANGER. TRY IT GOOD LUCK.
Reply:Hey dude if the girl loves you she will give u clear cut signal.

which you may find out easily being with her.

once you are confident that she likes you.

ask her friendly for going out or for movie.

Now I should not tell you what u have 2 do furher

Who sends "I am sorry" Balloons in the DFW Metro?

Ha ha I fudge up with my girl and I need something other than flowers, gift sets..

I was thinking Giant Balloons...

But I am open for suggestions!

Who sends "I am sorry" Balloons in the DFW Metro?
lets see, giant balloons work, but be sure you tell her how you feel as well, maybe write out your feelings to her and attach the letter to a balloon. You said you didnt want flowers, but if you had flowers delivered with a note that would be really sweet. Good Luck! :)

Last minute mother's day gifts?

Budget: $40 or under

Transportation: My older brother

What my mom already has too much of: perfume and lotions

Clothing Size: No idea.

Already going to get her: Flowers

Any ideas for material stuff? My mom is under a LOT of stress lately (my dad is out traveling, leaving her to feel like a single mom. Plus, my other brother just had major surgery and she is taking care of him 24/7). Any good ideas for something to bring a smile upon her face again? Anything under $40? Thanks!!

Last minute mother's day gifts?
Godiva chocolates, make her a desert, like a cake. Even if it turns out not so perfect she will like it because you tried your hardest. Use the lotions that she has and give her a massage, cook the family dinner for one day o that she doesn't have to worry about it, clean the house for her. I think those are the most important because she feels a relief off her shoulder so she can just sit and relax for a bit.

So when you finished doing the chores, and she is sitting....then give her that massage!
Reply:You are so trying to be the best! You (and your siblings) are already the best. Your mom loves you unconditionaly and I hope the love is recipriocated. Your mom is not in the market for material stuff. YOUR MOM WANTS YOU TO GIVE HER A GREAT BIG KISS! You can also give her a little respite from looking after your bruv. I will go so far as to say that this will be the best preasent ever! Enjoy. If ok, contact me because I cry at the drop of the hat. All my love. Gary U.K.

If a guy isnt all romantic with flowers etc.. is it cause he deosnt care about his gf????

Some guys think the world of their gf's and shower them with gifts, what about the guys that dont?

My bf doesn't and I ALWAYS tell him, for 3 years thats what I want... HELP!!

If a guy isnt all romantic with flowers etc.. is it cause he deosnt care about his gf????
some guys hold there emotions back and show them in different ways its not that he doesnt like in fact hes prob in love with you if he has been with you for 3 years its just that he shows his love in a different way that you may not notice
Reply:I don't know if it's that he doesn't care. You should check out the book "5 love languages". Some people's love language is giving....some physical touch. My boyfriend is DEFINATELY giving. If you don't think you can mesh with their "love language" maybe you should look elsewhere for a mate OR explain to him that while he may not know it, you fell LOVE when he gives you things. Just how he feels loved when you (blank). Three years is a long time, but some people can't give you what you need and that's okay, but that doesn't mean you have to stay.
Reply:You have the wrong idea. You are basing you relationship on material things and that will never work for long. If you are so insecure you feel that you have to have gifts, take a look at why you feel that way. Sorry, there is no help anyone can give you. If you like the guy and he likes you, that is gift enough. Bottom line, are you for sale to the one who brings the finest gift? I guess not. Think about it. Your girl 'friends' are bragging. Don't let it get to you.
Reply:Some guys aren't. These guys may not have had a lot of affection growing up. Get yourself something nice if he doesn't/
Reply:I have learnt: Just because somebody doesn't love you the way you think they should love you, doesn't mean they don't love you with all that they have.

This is a quote I have pinned (amongst others) on my notice board to remind me that sometimes people just see things differently to me.

I have come to realise that you can't change someone to be who you want them to be ~ maybe your boyfriend gives you all that he has to give %26amp; flowers %26amp; gifts just aren't who he is.

If you love him you will let it go. If you can't let it go maybe you should let him go %26amp; find someone who does shower you with the flowers %26amp; gifts you so desire... however, remember, the grass is not always greener...
Reply:Don't tell him, your killing his opportunities. Haha, the thing I hate the most is when my gf ruins my surprises by telling me she wants that sort of thing or she's expecting it. I don't want to give it to her after that. And well, maybe he doesn't have the right resources to shower you with gifts, but yeah, three years is a long time, he could have done it occasionally, but is he thoughtful of you? If he is, then he still cares, if you want the gifts, go get a nice person, preferrably younger or older who wants you more than you want them, you'll see the gifts stacking up.
Reply:Just because a guy doesn't give you gifts, it doesn't mean he's not romantic. Being romantic isn't all about giving gifts. Think about the other sweet things he's done for you, like maybe he calls you everyday to say "I love you" just to let you know that or he spends a lot of quality time with you. The little things that he does for you, whether you notice it or not, proves he can be romantic. If you are happy with the guy you're with, you shouldn't complain. I mean did you ever do anything romantic for your guy?
Reply:well if he doesnt appretiate u maybe u guys should take a break %26amp; then maybe he will notice %26amp; start!!
Reply:It doesn't mean he doesn't love you, why would you think that. He just isn't sensitive to those sorts of things and doesn't see why he should. You should know if he cares about you or not, how does he treat you otherwise?
Reply:I think some guys just aren't into the whole cliche thing of flowers etc maybe they just wanna do their own thing. But from what u say some do nothing. 3years wow maybe u should try going to extremes ignoring him ask him why he doesn't do that then ask him what he's prefer to to do instead.
Reply:your boyfriend is like my girlfriend. idk, i think that its something to do with, if you are more loving than them, they always feel loved, so they dont have any reason to think that you dont, but if you stay back a bit, they might be more apt to think about things liek that. im not sure though.. im currently trying to set the right distance from my girlfriend.. dont want to be either clingy OR distant!
Reply:Some people just do not like romance. You can't just assume because he doesn't shower you with gifts that he doesn't love you. It would be the same as saying if you don't give him oral and have sex with him at his every request, you don't truly love him.

Some people are just not romantic and you can't force it out of them. If romance is something you need in a relationship, then find yourself someone romantic as you're not going to get it out of him. Romance is just a way of showing the person you care about them. There are more than one way to show someone how you care. Keep that in mind.
Reply:my ex was like that and i eventually broke up with him and all of a sudden there was a load of roses on my front door....

Not telling u necessarily to dump him but .. I'm glad I did...

Hope that helps?
Reply:Some guys minds just don't think about flowers and gifts.

I would say the true test is how a guy treats a girl all the time that tells how he feels about her.

The same thing for the guy - how does she treat him all the time?

Are they respectful of your feelings? Polite to you? Make you happy more than sad?

There are a lot more important things in a relationship than silly gifts.
Reply:they aren't too smoothe when it comes to that, it doesn't mean they don't care. stop telling him you want him to send you flowers and just be so incredible that he wants to shower you with gifts and tokens of love.maybe try pointing out something he does that no other bf does and he'll start to get it
Reply:it doesnt mean he doesnt love u

it might mean he doesnt have the money now

it might also be that he isnt the romantic type

every girl wants to be showered with gifts and kisses and met the most romantic guy but sometimes it doesnt work out like that but sometimes u love him the way he is
Reply:dont take him for granet just kinda drop hints like leave empty boxes of chocalote around and b like o no im out of chocolate and then look at him and say do u wanna b a sweety and buy me some and when that package runs out u can buy me more and then after that....u get the piont

hope i helped!!

What are some nice romantic gifts that you can deliver?

my girlfriend lives 5 hours away right now and for sweetest day i want to send her something. i know about the traditional flowers, card, and candy but is there anything else?

What are some nice romantic gifts that you can deliver?
don't give anything that is meaningless, just give her your true love, thats sure work! ^^ Give her your full-of-love heart!
Reply:plants are great too and books...you sure do plan ahead..
Reply:I agree with the above answers, but if you really want something delivered there are those singing telegrams (if she would like that kind of thing) or you could send those teddy bears that have different outfits based on themes. If you decide to send something be sure to send a thoughtful card with a hand-written message.
Reply:vicky896 is right. I am pretty sure that you are all she needs. But if you really want to get her something, make a basket of little things that you know she will love and give it to her on ANY day, just cause...that will be very special.

What about making a picnic basket and taking her to a park and spending quality time with each other. Aww :)

I am pretty sure she will be happy with what ever you decide to give her.

Do girls still like "classic" gifts?

By classic, I mean the power-three: Flowers, Sweets (namely Chocolates) and cute stuffy animals.

Since we are in the 21st century already, do these power-three still work? Are they still as effective as before? Or are girls looking for "something new" nowadays? If so, what are they?

Do girls still like "classic" gifts?
Nowadays girls like the vroom vroom.

Not really as a gift, but as long as you have it, it's vrooooom!!! all the way.
Reply:Strangely, it seems to work for me. The cute stuffed animals are the least successful, but chocolates and flowers work out very well.
Reply:i hate stuffed animals, flowers and chocs always go down well. i am suspicious of my partner if he brings me flowers though i always ask what he has done wrong lol !!
Reply:Here is a suggestion instead of a bunch of flowers buy her a potted plant. Not all women like expensive gifts, it is the thought that counts, she will love u, no matter what u buy her, cause she will know that u are thinking of her, and u put effort into buying her the gift.....good luck
Reply:I think they are still effective, but it depends on the girl, more or less. I think any gift is flattering but I personally would rather see some creativity when it comes to getting gifts. Flowers and chocolates are so typical. Stuffed animals may show sensitivity but eh, you can do better than that.

It would be much more meaningful, in my opinion, if a gift was given that either reminded my man of some kind of inside joke we had or something. You don't have to overdo it.
Reply:Mostly they like cash but some will take credit cards!
Reply:With any gift, I'd certainly appreciate it. But quite honestly, I'm not one for stuffed animals or chocolates. Flowers are good as the only person who usually buys me flowers is me. The best gift is personalized. If you pay attention to what she likes and buy a gift that reflects her taste or interests. It doesn't have to be expensive.
Reply:Girls like to know that they are appreciated and that their man is thinking about them constantly.

I think that flowers and sweets occasionally are always appreciated but cute stuffy animals are a bit annoying. Don't give many sweets if she is on a diet because you may be opening a whole can of worms that you may not want to. But one box of her favorite chocolate for example can always be appreciated. What is often better than all that is to take her places. Or if you see something small that you think she would like. But don't go overboard because you probably don't want a woman who thinks of you as her own personal wallet. But a surprise now and then or a phone call or a nice meal will do wonders.

A little bit of pampering still does go a long way.
Reply:Well it depends.. in some places yes and some want new styles of gifts so check out first the girl what she really want..
Reply:I guess its different for each person. It still works for me but it may not work for another girl.
Reply:Being a girl (or older lady!) I would be pleased to get any of the three above even the cute stuffy animals especially if they are Eeyore because it's the thought that counts in my book.
Reply:that would depend on the person you're giving it to.

but, for me, so far it works well.....
Reply:Depends on the girl really... and how much of a gold digga she is.... but they definitely work for me!!!!

I love getting flowers and teddy bears.. :)
Reply:imyself would much prefer a single flower or hand picked wildflowers they say alot more and hand over the chocolate now lol and i still sleep with my big stuffed bunny

Im in iraq and i want to get my wife something not generic for our first aniversary?

so im deployed and im sick of getting flowers, gift cards, and jewerly, but honestly im not very creative and i want to get her something that will blow her mind away but its kinda difficult being that im in iraq and she's in the states so here i am asking for help. any ideas.

Im in iraq and i want to get my wife something not generic for our first aniversary?
Go to some of the little shops there and find her something. Despite the fact that Iraq is a war zone I bet they make some really pretty stuff. Like a scarf or pottery or anything like that.
Reply:Do like Billy Bob did for Angelina Jolie did and get her a necklace with a vial of your blood. Or a vial of tears that you've cried because you're so far away from her. Too gross and/or corny? Sorry, i'm melodramatic like that...
Reply:First let me say thank you for putting your life on the line everyday for me and our country. Stay safe, I bet that's all she wants.
Reply:Thank you for protecting us. You deserve the much more than we are able to give.
Reply:i know its tough to be away from your wife on your 1st and i thank you from the bottom of mine and my familys hearts. My husband actually made me a shadow box for our first. Just of things that reminded him of me and some pictures. it is really cool and a sweet idea. it hangs in out living room to remind me that even a leaf or a red string made him think about certain memories we had together. I know its corny but hey it might give you some direction.
Reply:have you ever thought of calling her and telling her to go to a certain place( example: a day spa and dont tell her what it is just let her be totally surprised and tell her that because you cant be there to show her how much you love her that she deserves to be pampered, and then when she gets home have a huge bouquet of her favorite flowers with a jar of hersheys kisses and say, "here is a kiss for you for every day im not with you" have someone in your family help you with this idea. my fiance did this for me since he was deployed and i will NEVER forget it... it wasnt anything big or expensive but just from his heart and it was totally cute i thought.. i dont know if this will help but anything from your loved ones when they cant be with you means the world!! i hope you return home safe!!!

Just for laughs... Hope it will brighten your day.?

UPGRADE FROM BOY FRIEND TO HUSBAND

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a slow down in the overall performance, particularly in the flower, gifts and jewellery applications that had operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 un-installed many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, but installed undesirable programs such as Formula One 5.0, NBA 3.0 and World Cup 2.0.

And now Conversation 8.0 no longer runs and House Cleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

What can I do?

Desperate Housewife.
