Need to Get My Girlfriend in College Something Nice?

Fore Valentine's day. We've been sort of hinting to each other that we would like to go out for quite some time, and last week we finally stated it officially. I want to get her something that she will really like for Valentine's Day. We're both in college, so it would need to be fairly inexpensive, and I'm not a great cook. She's kind of a nerd (Plays dungeons and dragons, likes video games, etc.) and I don't think she would go for the normal "chocolates and flowers" gift.

Actually, I just thought of something, so could you also give me your opinion on this? One of the things we wanted to do while hinting about dating was ordering a pizza and just staying in the dorm and watching a movie together. Something intimate. Would it be a good idea if I ordered a cheese pizza, but then convinced the pizza guy to let me put pepperonis in a heart on it? So that when I come to her dorm, we open up the pizza box, and there's a heart in pepperoni on the pizza? I have a background in pizza.

dude, creative is cool, but do NOT underestimate the power of 12 red roses on V-day. everyone loves 'em, even if they say they dont.

cheers!
Reply:the pepperion and hearts sound very nice im a gurl on my bfs email but yeah that sounds nice and you could aslo buy her a shrit that has like i love dragons are somthing
Reply:Order in dinner...eat in an intimate, cute setting (candles, roses, the cheesy stuff!)...and then!: act like you're going to play a video game and have her sit on the couch in front of the t.v., but instead pop in a cute sideshow of pictures of the two of you, or if you haven't been together long enough to have photos, watch a sweet movie.
Reply:Bravo! It's cute and it's original. I think it'll go over great! It will show that you put forth effort and thought. (I'm not the candy and flowers type myself). If you do end up looking for something a little extra as a keepsake....I'd get her a little fantasy type figurine. I've seen some beautiful ones of dragons.
Reply:First of all, don't tell her you have a background in pizza. It sounds weird/creepy

But its a cool idea if you can pull it off, I say go for it (but get flowers too, every girl likes flowers)
Reply:That is a cute idea.. they will probably arrange the pepperonis for you. Actually one of the pizza places I saw advertised in my area was doing heart shaped pizza's. That could work.
Reply:I love the heart pepperoni idea! That's cool, you can watch Hackers or something nerdy but cool at the same time. That would be good since you are so new to dating.
Reply:That's awesome!

A well-thought out, heartfelt gift is so much better than flowers!

I don't know how old you are, but if you're not of legal drinking age yet, go get some cheap champagne glasses (at a party supply store) and a bottle of Martinelli's sparkling cider. Goes great with pizza!

Rent a couple of movies that she likes and hang out under a fluffy blanket all night.

You're so romantic!....
